METAL is one of Cardiff’s most favourite genres. Keeping Cardiff music scene alive means featuring all Cardiff’s favourite genres, so metal artists shouldn’t be missing from IMMERSED.
Many upcoming metal bands will be playing on the 30TH OF JANUARY, on the second day of Immersed. Our MOSHPIT theme night, is definitely going to be the LOUDEST!
The awesome bands of this theme have different and new ideas to introduce to metal scene. All these amazing upcoming artists have been recorded playing and performing in the TRAMSHED and our very own ATRIUM. Tramshed, of course, couldn’t be excluded from this year’s Immersed as it has been one of the main music stages for the past years of our festival.
And here areall the acts!
NO:IR have described their music as “an atmosphere of menace, pessimism, anxiety and realism, driven by vanity and fragility”. This obscure and fretful band has shown great ability in performance guiding the audience to metal frenzy!
NIGHTLIVES have described themselves as a weird band from Cardiff! They are a new electronic metal band having released three music videos. They have elements of horror, menace and madness in their music. They are create a delirium of electronic and metal sounds. They are terrific on stage!
TELGATE are an agro-glam band based in Cardiff. The band has said, “they embody a fierce challenge on societal norms along with a music which is unapologetically queer, loud and brutally honest.” Their song ‘Cherrytight’ is a reaction to the AIDS crisis in the 80s. This glamourous band is sensitive about LGBTQ issues and are definitely worth listening to.
LED BY LIES are a five piece metal band. Their influences are Linkin Park, Killswitch Engage and Of Mice And Men. Ryan Griffiths is on vox, Ashley Ball on bass, Sam Williams on drums, Lewis Matthews and Joe Clissold on guitars. They have released one E.P. called ‘Punch, Fall’. They are absolutely ecstatic and energetic on stage!
Since emerging in 2018, SCAVENGERS have become one of the most unique and adventurous bands in the alternative-rock world today. Drawing inspiration from the likes of comic books, video games and a mixture of musical influences including Mayday Parade, Frank Turner and Holding Absence, the band have established themselves as a key figure to the current Welsh music scene that brought you such breakthrough names as Funeral For A Friend, Kids In Glass Houses, Bullet For My Valentine and more. Providing a high energy of heavy riffs, heart wrenching pop hooks and a back catalogue of get out of your chair melodies, they have an energy to help you fit any mood.
WEN is a new and upcoming solo artist that has brought together the likes of metal and trap aesthetics into one style. If you're a fan of big riffs, catchy hooks and some trap beats, listen to his new single "Mutate" out on all streaming platforms!
EQUINOX are a four piece metal band. Their instrumentation is an aggressive mixture of progressive metalcore and groove metal. They have been heavily influenced by Loathe, Architects and Pantera. They prefer not to reveal the meaning of their lyrics with their philosophy that their viewers should have their own interpretation of what the lyrics mean to them.
EXCURSIA is a great thrash metal band of five performers. They were formed in 2015 by the guitarists A Dan and Sam. Wanting to play music that they just weren’t getting from other modern bands, feeling that bands have sacrificed melody for the sake of simply sounding brutal. They believe that you can have both. Their influences are mainly from 80s thrash bands such as, Pantera and The Big 4. Later on, Callum (bass), Lewis (vocals) and Leia (drums) joined them. This band is definitely going to rock the stage with beautiful melodies and metal energy!
CHERRY BOYS is a sensational six piece taking a dionysian approach to converge booty swinging beats with progressive tweaks. They aim to weld simple and sophisticated together to create off-kilter pop songs. Laszlo’s silky smooth voice combined with some crazy riffs and an intense energy to the songs that are sure to get you moving!
SKLTNCREW’S music is a mixture of influences from punk to rap. Their elements of storytelling are delivered through the medium of rap atop a foundation of raw punk riff driven guitar and bass lines, with melodic choruses thrown into the mix. With William Powel on vocals, Josh Roberts and James O’Neil on guitar, Eli’s Penri on bass and Oliver Fecci-Chiffi on drums.
MOSHPIT is going to be a stunning night full of LIGHTS, SMOKE and SPECIAL EFFECTS that will enhance the heavy metal atmosphere. Each performance will be followed by one-on-one INTERVIEWS with the bands. This is a great chance for everyone joining Immersed to learn more about these magnificent performers. Metal bands are very active in Wales, and there are so many good upcoming bands that needed to be featured in our festival. All joining this event to raise funds for TEENAGE CANCER TRUST.
