One our top sponsors this year for IMMERSED festival is the TRAMSHED music venue in Cardiff. The venue was originally built in 1902 the building was used to house old school trolleybuses that would navigate around the city. Seeing a huge opportunity, a buyer worked with Cardiff city council to negotiate plans to turn the buildings in to an ARTS CENTRE which would include amenities such as a GALLERY, DANCE STUDIO and MUSIC VENUE with a capacity of 1000 people and thus in late October of 2015 the Tramshed was open for business.
In the past the Tramshed has had a MASSIVE impact on the Cardiff music scene and has helped bring world known artists to Cardiff. It’s simply a fact that without the help of the Tramshed by providing a place for musicians to play the IMMERSED festival would not be able to take place.
Immersed was founded three years ago and continues to be managed by students from the University of South Wales, who have worked with Cardiff-based musicians, promoters and labels to showcase the city’s vibrant live music scene. Last year Immersed! SOLD OUT at the Tramshed venue and raised thousands for Teenage Cancer Trust; the ambition for 2021 is to build on this success to promote more NEW MUSIC, MORE DIVERSITY and SUPPORT causes that we are passionate about at this difficult time.

With the overarching threat of COVID19 music venues across the world have taken a hit especially the Tramshed after releasing a warning last year that they may be forced to close for good. Although the IMMERSED festival cannot be able to take place in person this year, we really want to make an effort to promote Welsh music and the venues that help keep it going. So, once we decided to make the festival an ONLINE experience for people to be able to ESCAPE their everyday lives and RELAX and WATCH some amazing artists from the comfort of their own home Tramshed were completely on board.
